Bodies are considered ineligible for the purposes of study, training or scientific research if they have been infected with HIV, HBV, HCV, tuberculosis, syphilis, transmissible spongiform encephalopathies, prion diseases, healthcare-associated infections and nosocomial infections (where the infection is the exclusive or prevalent cause of death), infections related to antimicrobial resistance, SARS-CoV-2 (including probable, suspected and confirmed cases), emerging infections or specific pathologies which pose serious risk to the health of workers in the sector.

Bodies that have recently undergone treatment with therapeutic radionuclides are also unsuitable, as well as bodies subjected to clinical or judicial autopsy; bodies that have severe mutilations or extensive open wounds of a post-traumatic nature; bodies of those who have committed suicide.
